The responsibilities of work and caring for younger children can be tiring. Add household chores and it’s easy to become overwhelmed.

However, one cleaning service promises to “wipe your chores away”.

The Department of Public Information (DPI) chatted with the founder of ‘Maid Simple Guyana’, Ali Williams who related that her one-year-old business offers wide-ranging residential and commercial cleaning services at affordable prices, including personal maid services, events cleaning and pressure washing.

Expanding on the list of services offered by the company Ali said, “we also have adult care, we have carpet and upholstery cleaning. So, we come in if you have your lobby area or your carpets, we clean that. We also do tiles and grouts. If you want a one-off cleaning or Christmas cleaning; anything in terms of the cleaning aspect we can cover that.”

The 36-year-old entrepreneur explained the idea for the business venture developed while she was completing her Master’s Degree in Business Administration at the University of Australia.

Ali said that since its startup in 2017, the response to Maid Simple Guyana has been very positive. “It is actually picking up nicely, of course, businesses take a little while before it can be established. But we are doing pretty well, we have several commercial businesses; in the banking sector, beverage sector and dental sector. My big area that we are covering now is residential. However, I am looking forward to getting major contracts from the government and getting into the bids into the larger aspect of cleaning.”

The young entrepreneur related that it is her hope to see more small businesses competing for and winning bids for larger projects.

The cleaning service currently employs close to 40 persons for both full time and part-time service. Ali explained that prior to executing any job customers are given the opportunity to meet the staff to ensure they are comfortable. “We make sure these people are trustworthy and are hard workers and courteous.”

She assured that her company goes the extra mile to ensure customer satisfaction.

Williams also highlighted that the workers have the relevant certification and experience to ensure excellent service. She noted that additional training is provided to her staff through a small group of qualified entrepreneurs she engages.

The founder of Maid Simple Guyana is encouraging homeowners and commercial businesses to sign on with her venture. She can be contacted via 608-2840 or on the business Facebook page “Maid Simple Guyana”.
