I received the unfortunate news on Thursday that I was tested positive for COVID-19. As a result, I am required to self-isolate. I have advised the staff at my office, and those I have been in close contact with, to act responsibly by minimising contact with other individuals and get tested.

My positive test result is a vivid reminder that our battle against this dreaded virus is real, and no one is exempt. I advise all Guyanese to take the necessary precautions to safeguard yourselves and families against the spread of COVID-19.
