On Thursday, Minister of Public Works, Hon. Bishop Juan Edghill, reached out to the three widows who lost their husbands in the fatal accident yesterday on the East Coast of Demerara.

The three men, who died in the accident, were attached to the Transport and Harbours Department (T&HD) – an agency under the purview of the Public Works Ministry. The three men were Mr. Linden Prince, age fifty-five (55), who retired last month as a forklift operator; Mr. Leknarine Seupaul, age 40 an engineer who worked with T&HD for the past nine (9) years; and Mr. Brian Christopher Bradshaw, age 36 an engineer who worked with T&HD for the past eight (8) years.

Minister Edghill expressed that he was in a state of shock after learning about the fatal accident involving the men. He offered sympathy and condolences to the families, friends and coworkers of the deceased men.

The families were reassured, by Minister Edghill, that support will be offered in whatever way possible during this time of grief.

Further, Minister Edghill takes this opportunity to encourage the travelling populace to use the five Cs (care, caution, consideration, common sense, and courtesy) while using the roadways to help curb accidents, and save lives.

Four persons died in the accident including a female who is yet to be identified. The Ministry extends sincere condolences to their families and friends..
