Students injured during attack on David G School bus discharged from hospital

(March 7, 2020)- The Ministry of Education wishes to advise that four students from secondary schools in Berbice who were injured during an attack on a David G School bus at Bushlot Village West Coast Berbice yesterday, have all been discharged. The four students received injuries and were treated at the Fort Wellington Hospital.

The Ministry of Education recognises the right to peaceful protests. However, the stoning of a school bus packed with children is unacceptable and the MoE condemns this act in the strongest possible way.

Our children should not be subjected to this sort of behaviour. The Ministry of Education calls on citizens to refrain from such behaviour, exercise good judgement and ensure that no harm is meted out to the nation’s future leaders.
