‘Unprecedented levels of development since 2015’ – Bagotville residents confident in Coalition Govt

Yohance Chichester, a lifelong resident of Bagotville, expressed his confidence in the Coalition Government’s efforts to create a better life for all Guyanese.
Speaking at a community meeting, Chichester explained that he and the residents of Bagotville have seen unprecedented levels of development since 2015, including the installation of lights for the first time in the inner Bagotville roads, home to the hundreds of people.
Member of Parliament (MP), Hon. Mervyn Williams, who was at the meeting, remarked that the lives of residents have indeed been significantly improved as can be seen in the rapid social, economic and infrastructural development in the region.
Adding that communities are safer, healthier, better educated and more prosperous, MP Williams assured residents that this government is invested in focusing on human-related issues.
Residents also commended the work of His Excellency, President David Granger, citing his interest in youth, education, healthcare, and the general wellbeing of Guyanese citizens.
Regional Executive Officer (REO), Jennifer Ferreira-Dougall noted that among the salary increase recipients in the region are Sweeper/Cleaners of Public Schools. Under the PPP/C administration, the sweeper/cleaners received a meagre $15,000 salary. In just four years, the sweeper/cleaners will now earn a whopping $70,000.
In his remarks to the gathering, Minister of Citizenship, Hon. Winston Felix relayed that this government pursues development to improve the life of every Guyanese.
The community meeting, which was held at the Bagotville Community Multipurpose Centre, drew scores of residents. It was part of a larger ministerial fan-out with ministers of government engaging residents in Regions 3, 4 and 5.
