Visible development under Coalition Govt

–  Pakaraima youth leader calls on villagers to see the development, ignore lies from opposition forces that are seeking to divide the people

DPI, Guyana, Monday, November 25, 2019

A South Pakaraima youth is calling on villagers of Rukumuta, Region 9 (Upper Takatu-Upper Essequibo) to ignore, what he described, as lies from opposition forces that are seeking to divide the people.

Seon Cartwright, a youth leader of the Karasaibai sub-district, had accompanied Minister of Business, Hon. Haimraj Rajkumar on a community meeting in the village on Saturday. Minister Rajkumar was part of a region-wide ministerial outreach at the weekend.

“We need you to see what is happening out there. Too many times, people come, and they lie to you, which is not good. They will try to isolate you from your own family and neighbour… But that is not the way forward,” Cartwright told the villagers.

He said villagers can’t be separated and expect development to happen.

“What do you want for yourselves? What do you want for your family? What do you want for your children and your village? What do you want for your region and your country?” Cartwright said were the questions needed to be answered.

According to him, development does not come easy, “you have to work hard for it,”

“The main idea is that we work hard for what we want. We have to work for Rukumuta. Every day, I have to think how best I can improve the lives of my children and the children of Rukumuta,” he said.

He also urged villagers to take heed of the importance of General and Regional Elections which, he said, will determine the kind of future Guyanese will have. “It is very important because we need to think about our country and our children’s future and which government’s hands, we will put our children in.”

Cartwright said he is confident in the Coalition and urged residents to do what is best for Guyana on March 2, 2020.
