“We are a working govt”

PM Nagamootoo tells Plum Park, Sophia

Residents of Plum Park, Sophia tonight heard of the many promises the Coalition government has kept to the people through development projects across the country.

This was outlined by Prime Minister the Hon. Moses Nagamootoo.

“We are a working government and that is a government you want to return to office, a government that is committed,” he stated.

The Prime Minister highlighted that over the last four years the ministers have been travelling to the various communities to listen and address the issues and concerns of Guyanese.

“We encourage them (ministers) to reach out, to go out to the people and at all the outreaches ministers have been having, solving your problems whether it is land, housing, water, street light, we have been reaching out and assisting you.”

Turning his focus to the oil sector and the recent information being publicized by Global Witness, the Prime Minister explained that this a calculated attack on Guyana mere weeks before an election.

With conviction, he stated, “after March 3 when we are returned to office with a resounding victory, we will continue to lead this country and to use oil revenues to provide the life we promised you, the good life and no one is going to take that away from you.”

Speaking of His Excellency President David Granger’s vision to make Guyana an educated nation, the Prime Minister declared “Children should benefit from a world-class education.”

He highlighted the rehabilitation and building of new schools, the implementation of the 5Bs programme that saw a marked improvement in attendance e and academic performance, establishment of ICT hubs across the country, the various initiatives designed to give young people essentials skills to manage their business ventures or become employable.

 “Today you have seen the result of working together, of six parties coming together in a coalition, a multi-party coalition, a rainbow coalition representing all the races of Guyana, all the ethnicities all the cultural groups of Guyana,” Prime Minister Nagamootoo said as he urged the residents of Sophia to remain firm in their conviction and stay focused.
