“We are here to understand your issues and deliver solutions,” Prime Minister, Moses Nagamooto told residents of Mahaica earlier this evening.

The Prime Minister was speaking at a community meeting held at the Mahaica Primary School at Old Road, Mahaica. He was accompanied by the Director of Sport, Christopher Jones and Attorney-at-Law James Bond.

Addressing some of the concerns raised by residents, he assured that these will be relayed to the relevant agencies and ministries.

A teacher, who raised the issue of school dropout – an age-old issue which the government has been working to address, noted that residents have been seeking vocational training for the children in the area.

“We must encourage our young people to get involved in sports and vocational training. I am encouraging our sport personalities to come to school to speak with our young people,” the Prime Minister stated, adding that this will be relayed to the Education Minister.

Prime Minister Nagamootoo also encouraged persons to think carefully before exercising their constitutional right when elections are due.

“It is not about the past; it’s about the future; it is about our young people,” as he further encouraged the youth present to ensure they are registered.

During remarks, he reiterated that the Coalition government has done more than any single term government, noting that during the last four years under the Coalition, the country has seen improvement across all sectors.
