DPI, Guyana, Wednesday, February 12, 2020

Taking the APNU+AFC political platform for the very first time since he left his former party the PPP/C, Regional Chairman of Region Eight, Bonaventure Fredericks, declared his allegiance to His Excellency President David Granger and the coalition government.,

He described the Head of State “a man and father with a heart for every Guyanese.”

Fredericks also pointed out the developments seen under the current coalition administration; a $10M Lapidary in Monkey Mountain where he said: “our children, our youths are earning their livelihood.”

The Lapidary also caters to neighbouring villages like Kato, Kurukubaru, Maikwak and Tuseneng. The facility encourages entrepreneurship, as well as a career path for those interested in the Geology.

The Region Eight Chairman also mentioned developments in healthcare, education; upgraded schools, ICTs, internet access and continued infrastructural development; a new magistrate court and police command regional office currently under construction in the region.

“In Potaro Siparuni we have had many developments, we have seen upgrades of many things, the kind of development we never had before, and so because of all these developments I have decided to work with the present administration.” Chairman Fredericks stated.

In his emotionally charged address, Frederick said despite being called a deserter, his focus remains on developing Region Eight for its residents.

“In life, we have to make choices, in life we have to move forward.” … “I have and still am working towards the development of all our residents, our children, our future, our lives, that is first and foremost in my heart.” Fredericks declared to a cheering crowd.

He told residents that the region was on a path to greater development and encouraged them to vote for the Coalition government to ensure the country continues on this path.

The rally was held at the Mahdia Oval, in the vicinity of the town’s dolerite rock monument.
