Minister Hughes in an interview with the Department of Public Information (DPI) noted that the last two years have been challenging, describing that “it has felt like a 100-meter dash.” She explained that upon taking office they(government) inherited a number of challenges that should have been dealt with by the previous administration.

Hughes explained that when Ministers were appointed to their respective Ministries, they all found that the necessary infrastructure and policies were not in place, hence it required additional work for the government. “That has made the work a lot more difficult”, Minister Hughes explained.
