Senior Research and Planning Officer, Adeti De Jesus says events at the Youth Village will include an exhibition by private and state-owned entities showcasing packages that cater to education and training.

She added that youths would also be informed about entrepreneurship, how they can access grants, and be exposed to the various opportunities available.

The first day will also see presentations by notable speakers on Guyana’s history leading up to the 50th Republic anniversary. Those presentations will address leadership and the role of youths in the transformation of the nation.

Other highlights include a fashion display and local talent fiesta. According to De Jesus, those two events are aimed at giving talented youths exposure while helping them develop their craft.

Additionally, the Youth Village will feature several regional and local artistes including Guyana’s very own Brandon Harding and Timeka Marshall, soca sensation Rupee, and chutney star KI.

Activities on the first day will start at 10:30 am and end at 11:00 pm while Saturday’s programme begins at 10:00 am and runs until 2:00 am.
