” Origins is not just about individual success, It is about contributing to the comprehensive development of Guyana’s orange economy.” Minister Rodrigues noted.
Origins is positioned as a key driver in the development of Guyana’s orange economy positioning culture, creativity, and innovation as engines of economic growth.
By fostering connections between talent, industry, and market opportunities, the festival is helping to shape a more structured and sustainable creative sector.

Minister Rodrigues expressed her excitement, highlighting that for the first time Orgins will be introducing five major award categories: Best Fashion Designer, Best Emerging Designer, Outstanding Storyteller/Innovator, Best Female Model, and Best Male Model.
The top prize for Best Fashion Designer valued at $1 million, while the remaining categories will each receive $500,000.

The festival continues to serve as a critical development hub, not only for designers but also for models, makeup artists, and other creatives who form the backbone of the fashion ecosystem.
Through structured training, workshops, and mentorship opportunities, Origins is building a pipeline of talent equipped with the skills needed for long-term success.
