As it relates to the tabulation of the Statements of Recount (SOR’s), 288 were completed for the General Elections and 285 for the Regional.

During her daily update, GECOM’s Public Relations Officer (PRO), Yolanda Ward explained that while the process is continuing, the commission is in the process of working out the logistics to have more workstations erected.

In addition to this, the commission is also reviewing how it can minimize the time it takes to count ballots in one box by focusing on the content that is specific to the process.

“For example, one of the envelopes in the box contains folios and based on what the order said, the folio is not an essential document to the process…this is something they will examine and come to a decision,” Ward explained.

On the subject of the observation report, the PRO noted that some persons are reporting things that are not relevant to the process rather than the anomalies. Ward explained that this document is to record the irregularities that may be found when going through the recount.

On Monday, 56 ballots were counted, 15 ballots counted for Region One, 11 for Region Two, 15 for Region Three and 12 for Region Four.
