UN pays courtesy call on Public Works Minister

The Minister of Public Works, Hon. Bishop Juan Edghill, was paid a courtesy call on Wednesday, August 12, 2020, by United Nations (UN) representatives; Mikiko Tanaka, Coordinator (UN) and Deirdre Shurland, Coordinator, (UN) Environment.

During the visit, Ms. Tanaka extended congratulations to the Minister, as the United Nations continues to support Guyana in advancing.

Among some of the areas discussed were; Major transformation for the linkage from Georgetown to the hinterland, natural gas, the transportation sector, the Suriname Crossing, sustainable development strategies, the new Demerara Harbour Bridge, green economy, capacity building and institutional strengthening of staff and the maritime sector, among other things.
