Min. Norton receives courtesy call from High Commission of Botswana

Minister of Social Cohesion with Responsibility for Culture, Youth and Sport, Dr. George Norton received a courtesy call from the High Commissioner of Botswana to Guyana, Her Excellency Tebogo Lily Motshome.

During the March 28, 2019 engagement at Minister Norton’s Main Street office, the strengthening of diplomatic relations between the two countries was discussed. Guyana and Botswana formally established on October 28, 1975.

Following the meeting, Minister Norton said that promising discussions were had in relation to partnerships in the area of youth development and cultural exchanges between the two countries.

Dr. Norton expressed confidence that the discussions will materialize into programmes and initiatives that will be beneficial to both countries.

Ms. Motshome shared similar sentiments, adding that she is looking forward to serving Guyana.

The Diplomat also expressed pleasure with being on the ‘Land of Many Waters’, referencing the warmth and hospitality of Guyana’s people.
