Tapas, Rum and Wine expands with new immersive experiences  

Patrons attending Flame and Flavour: Tapas, Rum and Wine event can expect more than just a dining experience, as the event introduces exciting new elements designed to elevate Guyana’s culinary landscape.

The exciting signature event is set to transform the Railway Courtyard on Sunday, March 29 and introduces a dynamic concept that places guests at the heart of the culinary process.

Guests will have the unique opportunity to witness live cooking demonstrations, as six talented chefs prepare their dishes on-site using open-fire techniques.

From appetisers to mains and desserts, each curated tasting menu is designed to reflect the chefs’ signature styles, creativity, and innovation, allowing guests to experience not just the final dish but the passion and precision behind it.

One of the featured chefs, Salina Yhun, who has been participating in the event for the past three years, expressed her gratitude for the amount of exposure she has received from her contributions and looks forward to the elevated experience this year.

“Tapas has always been amazing, I love it, it’s good exposure for chefs, and I’m excited to be here again, and I will always do it as long as they keep running it,” she said.

In addition to the live culinary showcase, the event also highlights a strong commitment to local entrepreneurship through a partnership between the Tourism and Hospitality Association of Guyana and the Ministry of Human Services and Social Security.

Four women-owned businesses, Dixie Punch de Creme, Seleina’s Craft & Things, Mili Makes, and Coriolis, will be featured, providing these entrepreneurs with a valuable platform for exposure and strengthening efforts to support small business development.

The Ministry of Human Services and Social Security remains committed to empowering women through initiatives that create opportunities for growth, visibility and economic independence.

The event is supported by key stakeholders, including the Ministry of Tourism, Industry and Commerce, Massy Gas Products Ltd, and 90.1 Mix FM.

The introduction of immersive food and beverage concepts and the inclusion of small, women-led businesses signal a shift toward more inclusive and experiential tourism offerings.
