President joins Diwali Utsav celebration featuring Bollywood recording artistes

The annual Diwali Utsav, a popular cultural event hosted by the Guyana Hindu Dharmic Sabha was hosted for the first time at the Guyana International Conference Centre (GICC) featuring recording artistes Gunjan Singh and Jeffrey Iqbal.

            President Donald Ramotar joined the large numbers of patrons who turned out to witness the two renowned Bollywood singers perform some of their popular renditions.

            At one point in the show, President Ramotar joined the two performers on stage to the delight of the audience.

            As a prelude to the main performers there were dances by the Dharmic Nritya Sangh dance troupe. Musicians from Mumbai and Guyana comprised the band providing the musical accompaniment.

Meanwhile on the sidelines of the GICC forecourt were stalls selling Indian food, clothing, handicraft and other side attractions.
