Min. Ramson’s 2020 Budget presentation spotlights government’s vision
Minister of Culture, Youth and Sport, Hon. Charles Ramson Jr. said that his 2020 Budget presentation will validate the PPP/C government’s vision to improve the lives of young people despite their geographical location.
He added that this direction advised by His Excellency, Dr. Mohamed Irfaan Ali, President of the Cooperative Republic of Guyana, will help to further the reach of the ministry through its various services offered.
The minister told the Department of Public Information that while he will not expose too much of the ministry’s plan until the Budget presentation on Wednesday, September 9, 2020,
“You (the public) will get a fairly good idea as to what expect as we (government) move forward”.
Since his appointment, Minister Ramson has professed his ministry will not act in a vacuum but utilise a multi-stakeholder approach. This he said, is expected to provide a positive response from all involved as envisioned.
“We want to have the collaboration and to make people feel involved in the process of building talent since building talent is a national thing; it is not a government thing, it is not a ministry thing it is a national thing that requires the community, ministry, government and private sector it requires everyone… you will find that a lot of the activities that I am doing is going to include as many of the associations as possible, once they fall within the area,” he added.
Thus far, the Minister met with various executives of sport associations as well visited sport and youth facilities to garner an understanding of the ministry’s next step forward.
