Chinese Ambassador calls on the Minister of Natural Resources

– Support for training, capacity building and strategic partnership

Minister of Natural Resources, Hon. Vickram Bharrat, M.P., was today September 04, 2020 paid a courtesy call by the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Guyana His Excellency Cui Jianchun.

Minister Bharrat and the Chinese Ambassador held wide ranging discussions relating to economic development and forging partnerships for the much-anticipated development of Guyana, resulting from the petroleum sector.

During discussions, possible areas for technical cooperation and capacity building were also explored, particularly for technical training to enhance capacity in oil and gas and natural resources’ management.  It was agreed that the Ministry and the Embassy will work closely in the near future to advance areas of mutual interests.
