Thousands of Guyanese are attending a government outreach at the Square of the Revolution, Durban Park today.

Ministers and officials from 22 government ministries and departments are engaging the members of the public as they work to address issues affecting them

During the opening, Minister of Social Protection Amna Ally reiterated that the exercise was about “bringing the government to the people and finding solutions to problems affecting them.”

Minister of State, Joseph Harmon noted that the outreach will not be a one-off event but will be taken to other regions, as part of the government’s commitment to inclusive governance, strengthening democracy and given the people access to elected officials.

The outreach will run throughout the day.
