GSA hosts virtual session on curing, smoking ham
– in celebration of Agriculture Month 2020
The Guyana School of Agriculture’s (GSA) Agro-Processing Facility (APF) has hosted a course on preparing smoked ham, during a virtual training on Meat Processing Technology, as part of its observances for Agriculture Month 2020.
This year’s observances are being held under the theme “Investing in Agriculture for Poverty Reduction and Sustainable Development.”

Ham being smoked to an internal temperature of 150 degrees Fahrenheit
The online training featured ham production and was conducted by GSA-APF’s Assistant Manager, Ms. Stacia McDonald.
The training aimed to educate persons on the different ingredients, equipment, and processes used for curing and smoking ham.
