House reflects on the life, dedication of service of former MPs

The life and work of former members of parliament were today remembered in the National Assembly for their dedicated service to the Parliament of Guyana.
Former Minister within the Ministry of Agriculture and MP, Alli Baksh passed on November 23, 2017. He served as a Member of Parliament (MP) from December 5, 2011, to May 16, 2015.
He was also a former Regional Chairman.
Several MPs including Opposition Chief Whip, Gail Teixeira and Government MP Haimraj Rajkumar paid tribute to the late parliamentarian.
Former MP, Mooneer Ahmad Khan, who passed away on September 14, 2017, was also remembered for his service to the Parliament of Guyana as a member of the Senate from October 5, 1961, to September 24, 1964.
He also served as Member of the House of Assembly from September 25, 1964, to May 25, 1966, and a member of the National Assembly from July 6, 1966, to November 5, 1968.
Tributes were offered by MPs Charrandass Persaud and Clement Rohee.
Family and friends of the late former MPs were present in the House.
