New Austrian Ambassador’s appointment approved

GINA, GUYANA, Thursday 24, 2016

The appointment of the new Ambassador of Austria to Guyana will provide for continued collaboration, as well as enhanced bilateral relations between the two countries.

downloadThis is according to Minister of State, Joseph Harmon, who told the media at the post- Cabinet briefing at the Ministry of the Presidency today, that Cabinet has approved the appointment of Her Excellency, Marianne Feldman, as non-resident Ambassador of the Republic of Austria to Guyana.

Ambassador Feldman who will replace His Excellency, Gerhard Mayer, will be based in Bogota, Colombia, Minister Harmon said.

Guyana and Austria established diplomatic relations in April 1973 and have supported each other on numerous occasions at the United Nations and other multinational fora, he said.
