Four more COVID-19 recoveries
—8 new cases, total now stands at 135

The Ministry of Public is reporting another four more recoveries from the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) taking the total to 62.
However, an additional eight persons have tested positive for the virus which means the number of confirmed cases in Guyana now stands at 135; this is inclusive of 10 deaths.
To date, 1,457 tests have been conducted yielding 1,322 negative results
Sixty-three active cases remain in isolation at various facilities across Guyana while 2 critical patients are currently in the COVID-19 ICU at the GPHC and another 6 are in quarantine.
Residents of Cornelia Ida in Region 3 and Diamond in Region 4 are reminded that the MOPH COVID-19 mobile testing unit will soon be visiting their communities.
Meanwhile, citizens are asked to always practice social distancing in the workplace, public spaces, and while using public transportation to reduce the spread of the coronavirus diseases.
Globally, as of May 24, 2020, the World Health Organisation has recorded 5,206,614 confirmed cases with 337,736 deaths while in the Region of the Americas the total number of positive cases is 2,338,124 with 138,116 deaths.
