GPHC hails hardworking Admin professionals

More than twenty persons, working in various administrative capacities at the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation were today, recognised for their contributions to the daily operations of the medical facility.

Brigadier (Ret’d) George Lewis, CEO, GPHC, hands over a token of appreciation to one of the administrative assistants at GPHC.

The GPHC staff members were presented with tokens of appreciation and treated to brunch.

GPHC Chief Executive Officer, Brigadier (Ret’d) George Lewis detailed some of their responsibilities that ensure the smooth operation of the medical facility “…the list of duties ranges from managing the office, dealing with correspondence, managing calendars, running errands…”

Today, April 25, is the international observance of Administrative Professionals Day.

In the Caribbean it is being celebrated under the theme, ‘Caribbean Admins Working Together to Move Mountains’.

Joan Haywood, Administrative Executive of the Administrative Professionals Association of Guyana noted that with the evolution of the administrative profession, persons have developed their competency and skill levels in various managerial areas.

She also added that the recognition afforded to administrative staff by their employers builds moral which subsequently guarantees better production while strengthening the administrative capacity in an office.
