PM Nagamootoo congratulates Skerritt, Dr Shallow on CWI appointment

Prime Minister, Moses Nagamootoo has extended congratulations to the Richard Skerritt and Dr. Kishore Shallow on their appointment as the new President and Vice-President respectively of Cricket West Indies.

In his letter to Richard Skerritt, the Prime Minister wrote:

“I offer warm congratulations to you and Dr. Kishore Shallow on your election to the Presidency and Vice Presidency of Cricket West Indies (CWI). I am aware of your background in West Indies cricket administration and experience in government which will serve you well during your term. All Guyanese wish you every success as you endeavour to provide leadership, vision and direction in the administration of our premier regional sport.” 

Prime Minister Nagamootoo highlighted that Guyanese people are passionate and unwavering fans of West Indies cricket and look forward to annual international cricket in our country and as such:

“We look forward to engaging with you, Dr. Shallow and the CWI Board, soonest on matters of mutual interest towards the development and growth of West Indies Cricket.”

He also expressed the hope that “strained relationships with players and other stakeholders” will be healed.

“We are impressed with your Cricket First plan, and look forward to its full execution regionwide,” Prime Minister Nagamootoo stated.

According to West Indies Cricket Jamaica online, former senior team Manager, Richard Skerritt defeated the incumbent, Dave Cameron 8 – 4; his running mate, Dr. Kishore Shallow who challenged Emmanuel Nathan also won by the same margin.
