President Ali brightens season for dozens of elderly persons

His Excellency Dr. Mohamed Irfaan Ali in his ongoing effort to bring relief to families during the pandemic, distributed hampers to dozens of elderly persons from the Mahaica area today.

The President presented the elderly persons with food supplies, which are expected to help them throughout the holiday season. In total 50 hampers were distributed.

The recipients thanked the President for the kind gesture and said the hampers will help to make their Christmas even merrier.

The President had journeyed to Unity, Mahaica to take part in a toy distribution exercise at a Christmas event, which was organised by businessman Chris Persaud.

“To our elderly, of course you have contributed significantly to our country. You are also a great asset of our country. And I am very pleased to be here and share with you also and to assure you that we will continue to work hard to make your lives better.”

President Ali emphasised that improving healthcare will be on the forefront of the Government’s agenda.

He also used the opportunity to extend well wishes to all gathered on behalf of the Government of Guyana and his family.
