President David Granger attends 20th Anniversary celebration of the Establishment of Diplomatic relations between Guyana and the Sovereign Order of Malta.

President David Granger, this evening, attended a reception to mark the 20th Anniversary of the Establishment of Diplomatic relations between the Cooperative Republic of Guyana and the Sovereign Order of Malta.

The Sovereign Order of Malta is a global institution operating medical, social and humanitarian projects in 120 countries. It has bilateral diplomatic relations with over 100 states and the European Union and permanent observer status at the United Nations. It operates through 12 priorities, 48 national associations, its 133 diplomatic missions, a worldwide relief agency and 33 national relief corps as well as hospitals, medical centres and specialist foundations.

The St. John’s Association of Guyana of which President Granger is the Patron, is a member of the alliance.
