As Minister responsible for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, I am pleased to announce several key appointments. The individuals identified will help to bolster the Ministry’s foreign relations, technical and administrative capacity, as well as serve to strengthen my ministerial mandate.

I have identified former Minister of Foreign Affairs, Carolyn Rodrigues – Birkett, for the post of Guyana’s Ambassador to the United Nations. She will also take up the Chair of the G-77 + China.

Former Minister of Natural Resources, Robert Persaud, will assume the role of Foreign Secretary, while former Foreign Minister Carl Greenidge will be my Advisor on Borders. And finally, Ambassador Audrey Waddell will be appointed Permanent Secretary.

Please join me in congratulating our new appointees as we advance Guyana’s Foreign policy agenda.
