The minister said the Guyana Elections Commission (GECOM) staffers to be courteous.

“Their explanation of the process, to me, was very clear and I voted like a boss!” she added.

As the voting continues, Minister Lawrence is advising those yet to vote to do so before the close of polls. “It is done in a smooth and transparent manner.” She reminded that the elections were about the citizens right to choose their local leaders.

“Cast your ballot and exercise that franchise that you have and so many people around the world don’t have.”

The Public Health Minister reminded, “… We fought for this so that all of us can have a say at the local level.” She added that more persons needed to understand the need to be part of a democratic process which will hold those they elect accountable for the development of their respective communities, countrywide.
