West Indian Sports Complex makes donation to Sports Dept.

Minister of Social Cohesion, Dr. George Norton on Thursday last accepted a large donation of sports gear from the West Indian Sports Complex located at Lot 43 Robb Street, Lacytown.

Officially handing over the items to Minister Norton was the company’s proprietor, Javid Khan. The donated items comprised cricket bats, balls, gloves, flat cones, children’s cricket sets, baseballs, footballs, uniforms, ball pumps, etc.

Minister Norton thanked Mr. Khan for the items, noting that they will all be donated to communities in need of gears to nurture young talent.

“I believe that is a noble gesture on the part of the West Indian Sports Complex. This is a sizeable donation that will go a far way in assisting many groups and clubs as they continue to nurture young talent,” Minister Norton said.

Mr. Khan expressed eagerness to further assist the Ministry in whatever way possible.
