─ DG Harmon says he is “GT to the bone!”

“I am GT to the bone!” – Director-General (DG) of the Ministry of the Presidency, Joseph Harmon proudly announced at his post-Cabinet press briefing, held today.

He confirmed that his United States citizenship has been officially renounced by the United States.

“I received a response from the US which came on October 8, indicating to me that with effect from July 31, 2019, that my application had been approved,” the Director-General told the media.

Harmon was one of four government ministers who resigned from their ministerial positions earlier this year following the High Court ruling. The others were former Ministers of Public Service, Hon. Dr. Rupert Roopnaraine, Foreign Affairs, Hon. Carl Greenidge and the Hon. Dominic Gaskin, who was Business Minister.

Earlier in the year, the Director-General had written to His Excellency President, David Granger informing that the process to renounce the US citizenship had commenced. Harmon had also indicated that once the process is completed, he will continue to serve his country eagerly.
