GNNL, NCN get new boards

Cabinet has approved the appointments of new board of directors for the Guyana National Newspaper Ltd. (GNNL) and the National Communications Network INC. (NCN). The appointments were published in the official gazette under the hand of Minister of Parliamentary Affairs and Governance, Hon. Gail Teixeira and took effect on Thursday September 3, 2020 for a period of one (1) year.

Cabinet considered Memorandum CP (2020) OPM 2/09 for Guyana National Newspaper Ltd. and Memorandum CP (2020) OPM3/09 for NCN presented by the Hon. Prime Minister.

The Chairman for GNNL board is Dr. Yog Mahadeo, while other members are Mr. Harry Gill, Mr. Jason Abdulla, Mr. Raul Aaron, Ms. Indira Badal, Ms. Nicole Williams and Ms. Vanessa Narine. The General Manager is Ex-officio.

Meanwhile, the Chairman for the NCN board is Mr. Raymon Cummings. The other members are Ms. Shaleeza Shaw, Ms. Tracy Shamshadeen, Mr. Peter Ramsaroop, Ms. Phyllis Jackson, Mr. Michael Gordon, Ms. Vanelda Harris and Mr. Shaz Ali. The CEO is Ex-officio.
