Govt interested in trading rice, forest products and rum with Ghana

– President Akufo-Addo visits exhibition at Umana Yana

Ghanaian President, His Excellency Nana Akufo-Addo continued his state visit today with a stop at the Umana Yana for an exhibition showcasing locally made products.

President Akufo-Addo was accompanied by Minister of Public Telecommunications Catherine Hughes and was warmly received at the Umana Yana by Minister of Natural Resources Raphael Trotman.

The Head of State got a great view of the products on display. The two-day exhibition was launched at the Umana Yana on Monday to mark the arrival of the Ghanaian President and his delegation.

Minister Trotman remarked that Guyana and Ghana are very similar in areas of culture and mineral wealth.

“Two agreements were signed this morning dealing with free movement of skills and closer collaboration between our Go- invest and their investment agency in Ghana,” Minister Trotman noted.

Government, the minister, noted, has an interest in enhancing trade in rice, forest products and rum with the West African country.

At the end of the exhibition, Minister Trotman presented a token of appreciation to the Ghanaian leader. Tokens were also given to four members of the Ghanaian delegation.

Before leaving the Umana Yana, President Akufo-Addo paid a floral tribute to the Fighters of Freedom in Africa.
