Minister Norton extends condolences on the passing of Robert Selman

The Hon. Minister of Social Cohesion, Dr. George Norton wishes to extend sincerest condolences to the relatives, friends and well-wishers of Mr. Robert Selman.

Selman,  the Former Managing Director of the Guyana Beverage Company Incorporated, was an avid supporter of Sports, particularly Football in Guyana.

The businessman died at the age of 75 in his native land of Trinidad and Tobago, earlier in the week.

Under his company’s ‘Fruta’ brand, Selman became the backbone of the Conquerors Football Club, providing outstanding financial aid for more than two decades.

Today, the Fruta Conquerors continue to make a name for themselves, as beneficiaries of Selman’s philanthropy over the years.

Selman was also known to be instrumental in providing employment for the young footballers.

As the Minister responsible for Culture, Youth and Sport, Dr. Norton wishes to assure the Selman family, that Mr. Robert Selman’s contributions to Guyana has always been appreciated and will forever be cherished.

May his soul find eternal peace.
