Pres. Granger hosts reception for Toshaos

His Excellency, President David Granger, on Monday evening, hosted a reception for Toshaos and other Indigenous village leaders at the Baridi Benab, State House. The Toshaos are in Georgetown for the 13th Annual National Toshaos’ Council (NTC) Conference being held at the Arthur Chung Conference Centre (ACCC).

During his welcome remarks, the president reminded of the administration’s focus of the development of the human capital, especially women and children, and generally improving the quality of life of communities. The intention is to ensure all Guyanese are treated equally.
“It is impossible to achieve equality without the contribution of the Indigenous Peoples,” the Head of State said.
