President Ali invites former Presidents to discuss Guyana’s development

-meeting to convene on December 15

His Excellency Dr. Mohamed Irfaan Ali says invitations were dispatched today to Guyana’s former Presidents to discuss the country’s development. The meeting, Dr. Ali said, will convene on December 15.

The President revealed this during his keynote address at the launch of the Guyana-Canada Chamber of Commerce, at the Arthur Chung Conference Centre.

“It will be an open floor meeting where we will bring together all the former Presidents. I think it is an opportunity for us to continue to share ideas, generate ideas, talk about how we see Guyana’s development and to work out a model and a framework on how we engage on the future and how we have continuous contribution,” the President explained on the margins of the event.

The surviving former Presidents are current Vice President Dr. Bharrat Jagdeo, Mr. David Granger, Mr. Donald Ramotar and Mr. Samuel Hinds.

President Ali had touted the need for greater political inclusion in his inaugural National Address to the 75th session of the United Nations General Assembly on September 23.
