President Granger saddened at death of Mr. Francis Ferreira

Georgetown, Guyana – Friday, July 17, 2020

His Excellency, David Granger, President of the Cooperative Republic of Guyana is saddened at the death of Guyanese sculptor and artist, Mr. Francis Ferreira.

Mr. Ferreira died on Monday, July 6, 2020.

For more than four decades, he contributed to the Visual Arts both at home and abroad.

A two-time winner of the National Visual Arts competition, Mr. Ferreira placed second in the Guyana Visual Arts Competition in 2018. He was an Executive member of the Guyana United Artists (GUA) and Founder of the Main Street Group of Artists.

President Granger extends heartfelt condolences to his immediate family members, relatives and friends.
