South Korea/UNICEF donate 20,000 high-quality face masks to Human Services Ministry
The Republic of Korea, through the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), donated 20,000 high-quality KF94 face masks to the Ministry of Human Services and Social Security to help frontline child protection and social workers protect themselves in the execution of their duties.
The masks were handed over to Hon Dr. Vindhya Persaud by UNICEF Representative, Nicolas Pron and Honorary Counsel of the Republic of Korea, Ramesh Dookhoo, today, April 9, 2021.
Hon Persaud welcomed the donation and conveyed her Ministry’s gratitude to the Government and people of South Korea for the timely contribution.
“It is deeply appreciated. The Ministry of Human Services and Social Security’s frontline workers have been, continued to and will be continuing to deliver services to the vulnerable, including the elderly, the differently abled and persons who need their pension and public assistance. The Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs) will ensure our frontline workers remain safe because it is not only about the delivery of services and ensuring people get these services, but is keeping our officers safe because they have families and we appreciate their contribution every day. So thank you to the people of South Korea,” she said. The KF94 masks can filter out SARS-CoV-2 particles which are responsible for the COVID-19 disease.
