Three bandits shot dead by police

– four guns recovered

Three bandits were today shot dead by members of the Guyana Police Force (GPF) in Black Bush Polder, East Berbice. This follows recent robbery and police picking up on the trail of the bandits who engaged them in a shootout resulting in the death of three including Kelvin Shivgobin also known as Kelly.

The Police team transporting the bodies of the three men from Johanna South, Black Bush Polder.

Shivgobin was up to the time of his demise wanted for the double murder of the Samaroo brothers which occurred at Bush Lot village, East Berbice Corentyne on Old Years Night last.

The GPF has confirmed that fours guns were also recovered from the scene of the incident.

In response to a spate of robberies in the East Berbice area over the last few weeks the GPF deployed members of the SWAT team to the area in an effort to arrest the situation

It is reported that residents of the area are breathing a sigh of relief and in high praise of the GPF.
