The University of Guyana today installed its new Advisory Board at the Centre of Excellence for Teaching and Learning (CoETaL)
The university, at its Inaugural Teaching and Learning Symposium at the newly launched CoETaL, identified and installed the members of the Advisory Board.
The new board members were introduced and installed by the university’s Vice-Chancellor, Professor Ivelaw Griffith who tasked the members with contributing their expertise voluntarily to the centre and facilitating opportunities for faculties and students to enhance the learning and teaching experience at the institution.
“Appointees shall contribute voluntarily of their expertise to CoETaL and monitor the effectiveness of the programmes developed from the advisor’s perspective… they shall facilitate opportunities for faculties and schools and their students to enhance the teaching and learning environment,” the Vice-Chancellor said.
All members were issued with certificates that indicate what is expected of them throughout their tenure on the board.
The new centre and its board are all in keeping with the university’s Renaissance plan which seeks to improve the learning experience at the institution via a number of enhancements not only to the campus and its facilities but to the Teaching and Learning methods as well.
