African Union Commission pays courtesy call on Social Cohesion Minister

The Honourable Minister of Social Cohesion, Dr. George Norton today received a courtesy call from members of the African Union Commission.

The delegation was led by Ambassador Kwesi Quartey, the third Deputy Chairperson of the Commission.

The meeting, which was part of the Commission’s commemoration of Emancipation 2018 in the Caribbean, and was conducted at Minister Norton’s Main Street, Georgetown Office.

Ambassador Quartey’s visit sought to explore practical mechanisms for African-Caribbean co-operation in the implementation of the Programme of Action of the International Decade for People of African Descent.

Discussions were had in relation to the Union strengthening ties with the Caribbean Community (CARICOM).
