APNU+AFC gets landslide victory in region 10

The A Partnership for National Unity and the Alliance for Change coalition have gained a landslide victory in Region 10.

The coalition party received 19,153 votes in the Upper Demerara-Berbice at the recently conducted General and Regional elections. At the 2015 General and Regional Elections, the coalition had secured 16,791 votes.

The votes at the 2020 elections vastly outweigh the parties that contested in the region, securing more than five times the votes of the party that secured the second most votes. With that, the Peoples’ Progressive Party was able to secure 3202 votes. In 2015, they got 2785 votes in the region.

Change Guyana, one of the new political parties got 187 votes, the United Republican Party secured 119 votes while the People’s Republic Party was got 69 votes.
