Children’s Mashramani Competition begins in Region Two

Ministry of Education, Guyana, January 29, 2018 – The Regional Children’s Mashramani Competition continues today as the Department of Education Region Two begins its leg of the competition at the Anna Regina Community Centre Ground. Both Primary and Secondary level schools will be participating in today’s event.

During the opening ceremony, Coordinator of this year’s event Ms. Shondelle Hercules urged the students to do their best so that they can represent the region at the finals to be held in Georgetown.

Regional Education Officer, Ms. Baramdai Seepersaud told the students that each item performed on stage is important due to the time and effort that was invested to prepare for the event.

Meanwhile, Regional Executive Officer for Region Two, Mr. Rupert Hopkinson encouraged the students that their participation is important since he believes that the involvement of students in similar activities are linked to the development of Guyana.

The competition continues on Wednesday January 31st, 2018 and culminate on Friday January 2nd, 2018.
