Cuban Ambassador pays courtesy call on the Minister of Education

Cuba’s Ambassador to Guyana Narciso Socorro paid a courtesy call on the Minister of Education Honourable Priya Manickchand today. The parties discussed areas of mutual interest and how partnerships can be established in various areas to benefit the peoples of both countries.

The Ambassador was accompanied by his Personal Assistant Ms. Mayra Perez and also participating in the discussions was Mr. Keon Cheong, Coordinator for Regional Special Education Needs and the Disability Diagnostic and Treatment Centre at Turkeyen.

The Disability Diagnostic and Treatment centre is an example of collaboration between Guyana and Cuba whereby the technical training of staff at the facility was facilitated by the Government of Cuba. The Ministry of Education looks forward to continued partnership for the development of the education sector in Guyana.
