DPI dismisses fake news circulating social media

– Relating to an aircraft departing Eugene Correia Int’l Airport

The Department of Public Information (DPI) notes a fake report circulating on social media and WhatsApp relating to an aircraft departing the Eugene Correia International Airport. DPI dismisses this report as completely false and urges the public not to fall prey to it. It is clear that this report was conceived and distributed by desperate political forces meant to excite the public with a view to creating a sense of alarm and unease. DPI calls on the public to reject this fake report and not to engage in its further dissemination.
