Education Minister visits the family of teacher killed in road accident

(17th April 2019) – Minister of Education Dr. the Hon. Nicolette Henry, MP visited the parents of the late Joel Wills last evening. Joel Wills was a teacher at the Canje Secondary School and died in an accident on Saturday last on the Corentyne roadway.

At the deceased uncle’s home in Welcome Street Rosignol, West Bank Berbice, Minister Henry expressed condolences on behalf of the Government of Guyana (GoG) and the Ministry of Education (MoE) to the late teacher’s mother, Pamela Voglezon and his father Joseph Wills.

During the interface with the family, the Education Minister said that her ministry will offer whatever support it can in this difficult period. Minister Henry said she cannot imagine the pain the family is experiencing presently but assured that her Ministry stands firmly with them. Preparations are being made for the funeral which is slated for next week.
