GDF promotes five ranks

The Guyana Defence Force (GDF) has announced the promotion of five ranks. Among these is Commander of the Coast Guard, Colonel Gary Beaton, to the rank of Substantive Brigadier.

Those who also topped the list were Lieutenant Colonels Ronald Hercules, Julius Skeete, Omar Khan and Ken Lloyd Roberts. They have been promoted to the rank of Substantive Colonel.

This announcement was made on Saturday, by Chief of Staff, Brigadier Godfrey Bess via a press release. 

Brigadier Bess said the promotions were approved by Commander-in-Chief and President of the Cooperative Republic of Guyana, His Excellency, Dr. Mohamed Irfaan Ali.

“In accordance with Part 111 Section 16 of the Defence Act, 15:01 of 1977, the Chief of Staff is pleased to announce that His Excellency the President and Commander-in-Chief Dr. Mohamed Irfaan Ali, has approved the following promotions of five officers effective immediately”

Brigadier Bess, Officers and Ranks of GDF also congratulated all the newly promoted officers.
