Gov’t Ministries, UNPF to organise top-level adolescent dialogue

Georgetown, GINA, August 11, 2016

Government is set to convene a high-level policy dialogue to address programming for adolescent and youth, towards the goal of realising their full potential.

First Lady, Mrs Sandra Granger, Minister of Social Protection, Volda Lawrence and Minister of Social Cohesion, Amna Ally and technical officers of relevant agencies will be involved in the discourse.

Cabinet has given the green light for the event, following a request by Minister Lawrence to hold the dialogue, Minister of State, Joseph Harmon told the media at the post -Cabinet briefing at the Ministry of the Presidency, today.

Minister Harmon explained that Cabinet has agreed for the dialogue to be organised by the co-conveners of the World Population Day 2016 Symposium; the Ministers of Social Protection and Social Cohesion, in conjunction with the United Nations Population Fund (UNPF).

The dialogue will seek to establish a monthly sectoral commission, to address programming for adolescents and youths, he said.
