Former Minister of Foreign Affairs, Carl Greenidge is slated to continue his contribution to the work of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs concerning the territorial integrity with Venezuela.

President David Granger made this disclosure, on May 8, in an invited comment. The Head of State has engaged both the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Karen Cummings and the former minister regarding the new portfolio of the latter.

ā€œHe [Greenidge] will remain in the Ministry of Foreign Affairsā€¦ I have also had meetings with the new minister [Dr. Cummings] and I will meet them again to decide or let them know what my decision is,ā€ the President said.

The former minister will contribute to the continuity of work that the Foreign Affairs Ministry is engaged in, especially regarding the ongoing matters with Venezuela.

President Granger further clarified, ā€œitā€™s not two ministries, itā€™s one ministry and Dr. Cummings is the Minister and the functions, and everything else that falls within the ministry will come under the Minister of Foreign Affairs.ā€
